What is landing page experience?
Landing page experience is the rating of how useful and relevant your landing page is for people who click your ad. It is one of the three components of Quality Score and is rated below average, average or above average. Google looks at relevant content, clear navigation and good performance on mobile, among other things.
Why is landing page experience important?
- Part of Quality Score: a weak page pulls down the whole score.
- More conversions: a page that matches the search convinces better.
- Points to website problems: slowness or unclear content shows up here.
Examples of landing page experience
- An ad for “solar panel quote” lands on the homepage without a form: the experience is probably below average.
- The same ad lands on a page with a price indication, a quote form and fast mobile display: the experience can be above average.
- A page that loads slowly on mobile can pull the rating down.
How do you improve landing page experience?
