What are responsive display ads?
Responsive display ads are ads for the Display Network that Google assembles from components you provide, such as images, logos, headlines, descriptions and your business name. Google automatically adapts the size, layout and combination to the place where the ad appears, such as a website or an app.
Why are responsive display ads important?
- Many placements, one set: the same components adapt to different ad sizes.
- Less design work: you do not build a separate banner for every size.
- Testing: Google shows the combination the system expects to fit the placement best.
Examples of responsive display ads
- A sporting goods store supplies five product photos, a logo, three headlines and two descriptions.
- A B2B software company uses a product screenshot with a headline about its main benefit.
- A local installer shows a team photo with the text “Get a Quote Within 24 Hours”.
How do you use responsive display ads?
Provide sharp images in different aspect ratios, a clear logo and headlines that make sense without the image. Google has announced that standalone Display campaigns are being folded into Demand Gen, so check how this applies in your account.
