What is dofollow?
Dofollow is the informal name for a regular link without a nofollow attribute. Search engines may follow such a link and can take it into account when assessing the page it points to. There is no separate dofollow attribute: a link is dofollow as long as it carries no rel attribute such as nofollow, sponsored or ugc.
Why is dofollow important?
- Valuable backlinks: editorial dofollow links from trustworthy sites support your visibility.
- Internal links: regular links draw attention to your important pages within your own site.
- A deliberate choice: you decide which links you pass on and which you do not.
